Nothing is weighted and nothing is hand-tuned — the overall figure is the straight average of the six. Here is what each dimension actually measures. ### Clean & Shine Does the car come out clean? I check the places a tunnel usually misses: behind the mirrors, the rocker panels, the lower third of the rear bumper, and the film that road spray leaves on a tailgate. A wash that looks great from ten feet and fails at arm's length scores low here. ### Paint Safety The dimension I care about most as a former operator. I look at the condition of the wrap material and the mitters, whether grit is being carried between cars, how the pre-soak and lubrication are set, and whether the brushes are actually being washed down between vehicles. Worn or dirty wrap material is what puts swirl marks in paint — not the concept of soft-touch itself. ### Dry & Finish How much water is left on the car at the exit, and where.
